Billy Mulvaney

Billy is care experienced, growing up in residential children’s homes. Billy has followed a career in care as he is passionate to give back to young people in children’s homes by make their experiences safe, warm and enjoyable as well as having a positive impact and make a real difference to the young people’s lives. Billy feels connected to children who have not had the best experiences in life helping them be the best version of themselves.

Billy has over 17 years’ broad experience has evolved over time from his service in various health and social care sector settings within the local authority and the private sector. Billy has held various management and leadership roles including Quality Assurance Officer, Registered Manager, The Responsible Individual and Designated Children’s Safeguarding officer.  Billy has also been a Local Authority SEN Case Manager providing case management for children with a variety of complex special educational needs.

Billy has extensive experience supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs, children with physical and learning disabilities, children who have experienced severe trauma, complex health, developmental, social and communication needs, across various specialist children’s homes and secure children’s homes.

Billy has 2 young children both boys and enjoys family time, long walks, outdoor fun and family holidays. Billy has been developed a national support group in residential care supporting over 1000 members including managers, responsible individuals and directors that provides support, creative and dynamic ideas, and best practice.
